Game of Thrones Episode Wine Pairing Guide S7E7

Welcome to the inaugural maiden voyage of the GoT Episode Wine Pairing Guide.

I am your host, Chris Ledbetter, Author and self-described Wine Connois-sumer.

In this heavily anticipated season finale, Season 7- Episode 7... The Dragon and The Wolf, we have a great gathering of forces descending upon King's Landing for a meeting of the minds. The Unsullied and Dothraki seem to have the exterior well-under control, while inside the city, a powder keg is about to fall into a fiery stew of leaders from all over Westeros, some who have never seen one another face to face.

Hang on kids, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

To that end, my wine pairing for GoT S7E7 is...

I definitely chose Fortress Cabernet in honor of King's Landing and The Red Keep... thus far an impenetrable stronghold.

According to the label, this wine offers a layered palate, perfect for the multi-layered sub-plots braiding together tonight... some of which may be snipped and cauterized. Dark fruit with soft tannins lends to the full-bodied contradictions of the larger-than-life characters who've committed unspeakable acts, but yet you still love them. The white pepper notes represent Jon Snow's spicy delivery at times, while the notes of cocoa from the Unsullied and Dothraki add round, robust nature to the finish.

Enjoy!

Given that this is the first post... I know, season finale and all... I WILL return next season for more episode wine pairings.

Cheers!

NEW RELEASE: Check Out... HENRY & GRACIE!

Check out this new release from Marilyn Jeulin...

Turning the big 3-0 isn’t easy. It’s even more difficult when well-meaning friends decide you need to stop being single and find your Prince Charming. Add in a series of never-ending bad blind dates and this is all too familiar territory for Gracie Marquez.

What Gracie’s friends don’t know is that she’s been in a nine year “friends with benefits” relationship with her best friend, the dashing Henry Huntingdon the Third. The pressure of turning another year older has Gracie questioning the nature of their relationship. Emotions run high and jealousy threatens to tear them apart. Has Gracie’s Prince Charming been in front of her eyes or has Henry been keeping her from finding true love?
